ABOUT

Meet Summer.

Summer Smith, Founder & Creative Director of BLAYKE MEDIA

Summer is the founder and creative mind behind BLAYKE MEDIA. A graduate of Humber Polytechnic's Advertising & Marketing Communications program (April 2026), she built BLAYKE around the part of marketing she's always been most drawn to — figuring out what makes people pay attention.

Her work lives somewhere between strategy and creativity. She's usually behind the scenes planning the next month of content, behind a camera capturing it, editing the final cut, or figuring out why one post worked while another didn't.

Her experience has taken her across industries — from automotive and financial services to dance, weddings and events, beauty, small businesses and personal brands. Different businesses require different voices.

At the core of it, Summer has always been passionate about people — what motivates them, what they're working toward, and how to actually help them get there. She's a people person: someone to bounce ideas off of, who wants your vision to come to life the way you see it. And if you can't get it done yourself, that's where she comes in — from the smallest, most random task to full event coordinating, in-house and on-site, behind the scenes and right there with you. She loves to travel and will go the full nine yards to get your business to where it's meant to be.

Strategy is her game — but people are at the centre of it.

WHY BLAYKE MEDIA

It started with passion.

Summer has always loved social media and marketing — the trends, the psychology of what makes people pay attention, and especially the strategy behind it. But the real proof came earlier than you'd expect: at 16, she started a lash business, and marketing is the reason it's still running today. Without it, that business wouldn't have survived this long.

Later, a fun side project — a podcast called Own the Chaos — showed her just how much impact good communication and creativity can have. Watching an idea turn into something real, purely through the right message and the right content, is what convinced her marketing wasn't just a skill. It was something worth building a business around.
